Set to represent Goa in the Subroto Mukherjee U-17 football in Delhi

Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School Verna will represent Goa at Subroto Mukherjee U17 Football tournament in Delhi.
In the state level final held on Monday, the Verna school defeated two-times Goa champions VS Dempo Higher Secondary School Cujira 4-0 at the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) Santa Cruz football ground, Santa Cruz.
A brace by Elton Fernandes and goals each by Walton Fernandes and Captain Jayden Pinto helped the Verna school to outclass Dempo Higher Secondary school team.
The winners led 1-0 at the end of half-time play.
In the district final, Fr Agnel Multipurpose High School Verna had defeated Damodar Higher Secondary School Gudi Paroda while VS Dempo Higher Secondary School Cujira got the better of St Xavier's Higher Secondary School Mapusa.
The trophy distribution and certificate presentation saw Socorro Vaz, Founder of Youth Futsal Academy, Fatorda give away the trophy and certificates in the presence of Fr Agnelo Gomes, Fr Issac Fernandes Fr. Vicky Hilario, Sanjay Shirodkar ZSO, Anant Sawal State Sports Organiser and Physical education teachers of Verna School Prabhakar Velip and Filbert Pereira were present.
Pravin Naik, Domnic Fernandes, Aaron Rodrigues and Purushottam Mapari were the match officials for the final.
The 63rd edition of Subroto Mukherjee Football will start from September 2 in Delhi.
