Fr Agnelo YC Paroda secured a narrow 2-0 victory over a spirited CRC Chinchinim to book their place in the finals of the Cavelossim Panchayat Cup, organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and played at Fr. Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
The match saw both teams produce an entertaining display that kept the large crowd engaged. In the first half, Leviston Rebello of Chinchinim delivered a well-measured cross to Shario Gomes, whose header narrowly missed the target. For Paroda, Fedrich Fernandes had a chance to score but shot over from close range. Chinchinim also came close before half-time, but Ravil Fernandes produced a crucial goal-line save to deny Velrose Dias.
After the break, Chinchinim created several openings but failed to convert due to lack of coordination in attack. Triston Lopes missed a clear chance after delaying his shot and was dispossessed by Rayan Menezes.
Paroda made the most of their opportunity on the counter when Salvin Fernandes set up Savio Vales, who finished past goalkeeper Joydon Menezes to make it 1-0. In the 50th minute, Fedrich Fernandes, who was impressive in midfield, sealed the win with a powerful grounder to make it 2-0.
With this victory, Paroda advance to the final where they will face St Sebastian YC Murida, Fatorda on May 3.
