Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda edged past Arlem Youth Association 4-2 in a tense penalty shootout to book their place in the final of the Cipriano Silva Memorial Football Tournament, organized by Ambelim SC at the Chinchinim Church ground on Wednesday.
After a goalless regulation time, the match was decided via a tiebreaker. Xavier Afonso, Melson Fernandes, Jesvan Fernandes, and Selton Fernandes converted their spot-kicks for Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda, while only Luan Dias and Velroy Borges managed to score for Arlem YA.
Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda will now face Ambelim SC in the tournament final.
Ravil of Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda was named Man of the Match for his standout performance. The award was presented by John Viegas, former Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department, in the presence of Benjamin and Jacinto D’Silva.
