Sports Minister Govind Gaude has hailed the election of Rohan Desai as the BCCI Joint Secretary during the AGM in Mumbai on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters in Bicholim, Gaude said Desai's election as the BCCI Joint Secretary is an important milestone for cricket in Goa.
“Desai has made great contributions to cricket and so, his position as BCCI Joint Secretary will be useful in giving a new direction to Goan cricket through the BCCI. I extend my hearty congratulations to Desai,” said Gaude.
Gaude also stated that special efforts are being made to set up an international cricket stadium in Bicholim.
“I have been trying to set up an international cricket stadium in Bicholim and have been continuously following up on it. Since we are getting support from the BCCI, we are determined to build this international stadium in a rural area of Bicholim,” he said.
