Goa Police SC registered a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sesa FA in their Goa Professional League encounter, edging past determined opposition in a contest marked by steady tempo and decisive moments.

Sesa FA began the match with intent attempting to work openings in the final third during the early exchanges, but struggled to break through Goa Police’s organised backline. As the half progressed Goa Police grew into the game and started creating chances of their own with both sides matching each other in pace and midfield battles.

The breakthrough arrived in the 34th minute when Goa Police were awarded a penalty following a foul inside the box. Kunal Salgaonkar stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to give his side the lead. Sesa responded positively and found the equaliser seven minutes later. Likson Rebelo played in Jeff Dias, who cut through the defence and finished confidently past the goalkeeper to level the score at 1-1 before the break.

Goa Police regained control soon after the restart. In the 54th minute, Mayuresh Naik struck from close range, his effort slipping past the goalkeeper despite a desperate attempt to intervene, restoring Goa Police’s lead at 2-1.

Sesa pushed forward in the latter stages committing men in search of another equaliser, but Goa Police remained disciplined and compact at the back. Aman Rajbhar came close in the 87th minute firing just over the crossbar as Sesa’s best late chance went begging. Deep into stoppage time, Jeff Dias was shown a yellow card for attempting to challenge the goalkeeper as he gathered the ball. Goa Police then managed the closing moments well to secure all three points.
