Goa's young cricketing talent shone on the national stage as the Goa Boys team clinched the title, while the Goa Girls team finished runners-up at the 10th Mini Under-14 National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, held at Karnail Singh Stadium, New Delhi, from August 18 to 20.
The championship, organised by the Tennis Ball Cricket Federation of India, featured participation from 32 boys' teams and 18 girls' teams across the country.
In a stellar run through the tournament, the Goa Boys defeated Western Uttar Pradesh in the final with a commanding performance, chasing down the target of 40 in 5.3 overs with six wickets in hand.
In the final, Goa produced a confident and composed performance, defeating Western UP by six wickets.
Western UP: 39/7 in 6 overs. Prathmesh Naik starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 8 runs. Vedant Gawas chipped in with 2 wickets for 11 runs. Goa: 40/2 in 5.3 overs. Aaryan Mungaokar led the chase with an unbeaten 16 runs. Anish Yadav remained not out on 9, guiding Goa to the title.
The Goa Girls team also delivered an impressive performance, making it to the final before going down to a strong Tamil Nadu side. Despite the loss, the team finished runners-up, marking a significant achievement in the tournament.
