Dr. K.B. Hedgewar High School, Ponda, emerged victorious at the Ponda Taluka level Team Chess Championship for invited schools, held at Kamakshi Education Society’s Higher Secondary School (KES HSS), Shiroda. The tournament was organized in collaboration with the Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA) and saw participation from nine schools across the taluka.
Vidya Vruddhi High School secured the runner-up position, while Swastik Vidyalay, Priol, claimed third place in a closely contested tournament.
Anand Kurtikar served as the chief arbiter of the event, ably assisted by Milind Gaude.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Vishwanath Dalvi, along with Amogh Namshiker (Secretary, PTCA), Surekha Naik (Principal, KES HSS), Shraddha Naik (KES Management Committee Member), Shravan Naik (Social Worker), Anil Raut (Tournament Coordinator), Sandesh Naik (Treasurer, PTCA), and Physical Education teacher Luis Vaz. Winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates.
