GVM's Utkarsh Vidyamandir emerged victorious in the 13th SRS Ponda Taluka School Chess Championship, scoring 10 Match Points and 18.5 Game Points to secure the first place. The tournament was hosted at Wagle High School, Mangeshi, and was jointly organized by the SRS Vedic Mathematics Academy, 1981 SSC Batch of Wagle High School, and the Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA).
A total of 23 schools participated in the championship, each fielding four players.
SS Samiti’s Smt IVBD High School secured the second position, finishing with 8 Match Points and 13 Game Points, while Dr KB Hedgewar Vidyalay took the third place with 7 Match Points and 13.5 Game Points.
VD & SV Wagle High School, GVM’s AJ De Almeida High School, and SS Samiti’s Lokmanya Tilak Vidyalay placed 4th to 6th, respectively.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including: Sagar Sakordekar (Founder, Vedic Mathematics Academy & PTCA President), Amogh Namshiker (Arbiter & PTCA Secretary), Anand Kurtikar, Anish Naik, and Naresh Gaunekar (PTCA Executive Members), Sangita Khaunte (Senior Teacher, Wagle High School)

Assistant Arbiters Milind Gaude and Prashant played an active role in smoothly conducting the tournament.
