International Master (IM) Ameya Audi secured the championship title at the Chess Festival Ceske Budjovice IM 2025, finishing the tournament with 7.5 points out of 10 rounds. Audi, the 4th seed, remained undefeated throughout the event.
His victories included wins over Grandmaster (GM) Rasik Vitezslav (CZE), FIDE Master (FM) Topncik Bruno, FM Had David, Lang Simon, and Lee Jayden (CZE). Audi also drew with GM Haba Petr, Candidate Master (CM) Ocelak Jakub (CZE), and FM Marakovits Nico (AUT), helping him maintain the lead. Audi finished 1.5 points ahead of second-place FM Marakovits Nico (6 points) and third-place FM Apoorv Kamble (5.5 points).
This victory marks another notable result for Audi in Ceske Budjovice, following his 2023 win in the Open A Championship and a joint first-place finish (second on tie-break) in the Sachovy Festival Ceske Budjovice IM 2024.
In other notable performances, at the Vaujany 2025 Open, Audi scored 6.5 points from 9 rounds, tying for second place and finishing third on tie-break. The event featured IM Mohammad Nubairshah in first place with 7 points. Audi drew with GM Hicham Hamdouchi, IM Anuj Shrivatri, and FM Breuil Virgil, while he won against IM Estremera Panos Sergio, IM Di Nicolantionio Lucas, and other competitors.
In the Teplice Open A 2025, Audi scored 6.5 points and finished 8th overall. The tournament featured 150 players, including 61 titled players from 28 countries, with IM Finek Vaclav (CZE) winning the event.
