MARGAO
Margao Sports Club beat Ambelim SC 2-1 to clinch the Davorlim Cup 2023 inter-village football tournament organised by Sporting Club of Davorlim and played at Davorlim ground on Sunday.
Joel Colaco gave the lead to Margao SC in the 5th minute of the match. Later Prisco Fernandes equalised for Ambelim SC at the stroke of the breather. Margao SC added pressure at the start of the match and gained the lead again from Clencio Pinto whose corner kick directly entered into the Ambelim net. Ambelim SC tried very hard to find the equaliser but in vain.
Margao SC were richer by Rs 40,000 and while Ambelim SC has to settle for Rs 30,000 besides trophies.
