MCC Tigers booked their place in the final of the MCL 11 T20 cricket tournament with a hard-fought 10-run victory over MCC Thunder in Qualifier 1. With this win, the Tigers advanced directly to the final, while MCC Thunder will get another chance to qualify when they play the second qualifier on 26 December against the winner between MCC Knights and MCC Masters.
Batting first, MCC Tigers put up an imposing total of 190/7 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was built around useful contributions from Chaitanya Kamat (34), Vaibhav Naik (34), Nikit Naik Dalal (33) and Viraj Tar (32). For MCC Thunder, Iftikhar Agha (2/30) was the pick of the bowlers, while Roshan Naik, Paul Fernandes, Sudhir Shet, Ved Mahambre and Rohan Badve chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, MCC Thunder fought bravely but fell short, finishing on 180/9 in 20 overs. Om Fadte (38), Roshan Naik (36) and Sahil Adwalpalkar (35) kept the chase alive, but disciplined bowling in the death overs helped the Tigers seal the match. Mrunmay Das (2/29) led the bowling attack, supported well by Ketan Kunde, Nikit Naik Dalal and Viraj Tar.
