Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) on Tuesday approved ten new projects involving a total investment of Rs 217.25 crore that is expected to generate 941 jobs across multiple sectors.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant chaired by the 40th Goa-IPB meeting in the presence of Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho, Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, the Chief Secretary, senior government officials and industry representatives.
Sawant informed that during the meeting projects worth Rs 217 crore were approved that span across diverse sectors including aviation and adventure tourism, food processing, automobile and mobility, packaging, tourism and hospitality, logistics, electronics, and toys manufacturing.
In addition to the new approvals, the Board reviewed several large investment proposals seeking incentives under the Goa Industrial Growth and Investment Promotion Policy, 2022, he said.
Among the major proposals was Vedanta Ltd’s Rs 722 crore DI pipe manufacturing project, projected to create 585 jobs.
The Board also examined a Rs 1,500 crore expansion proposal by 3B Advanced Composites Pvt Ltd in glass fibre manufacturing, which is expected to generate around 1,000 jobs, and Siemens Ltd’s Rs 363 crore proposal for a medium voltage switchgear manufacturing unit at Verna, with employment potential for 182 people.
Sawant said that the approvals and reviews reflect the State government’s focus on attracting quality investments while ensuring sustainable industrial development.
"The government reiterated its commitment to providing transparent and time-bound clearances, improving Ease of Doing Business, and creating employment opportunities for Goans," he said.
The Goa-IPB continues to play a key role in facilitating investments and fast-tracking project approvals as part of the State’s broader industrial and economic development strategy.
