MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem defeated Dramapur Sports Club 2-1 in the Anil Kamat Memorial Tournament, organised by Enfermos Sports Club.
Dramapur started the match on the front foot, creating early chances. In just the third minute, Carson Rebello unleashed a powerful shot, only to be denied by a superb save from the Parish Youth Nuvem goalkeeper. Minutes later, Nigel Fernandes squandered a golden opportunity, missing from close range.
PY Nuvem responded with a counterattack in the 10th minute, as Albino Pereira forced a fine save from the Dramapur custodian. Dramapur nearly broke the deadlock again through a header by Chadel Fernandes, but it sailed just wide.
The breakthrough finally came in the 20th minute when Shario Gomes of Dramapur SC fired home a sensational long-range strike from 20 yards, giving his side a well-deserved lead. However, the advantage was short-lived. Just six minutes later, Jonas Colaco slotted in the equaliser for PY Nuvem, sending the teams into halftime locked at 1-1.
The second half began with a spark as Albino Pereira scored in the 49th minute, putting PY Nuvem ahead 2-1. Dramapur had a golden chance to level the score through a penalty, but the effort was missed — a moment that would prove costly.
Despite mounting pressure and multiple attempts from Dramapur, including a free-kick from Gomes and another missed opportunity, they couldn’t find the back of the net again. Both sides had their chances, and notably, each team missed a penalty in the match — critical moments that shaped the final result.
