Royal Tigers, Faskali and Arya Strikers registered victories in their respective matches in the inaugural Chetan Manju Desai Leather Ball T20 Cricket Tournament at the GCA Grounds, Mashem.
Royal Tigers produced a dominant performance to thrash Cotigao Yuwa Warriors by a massive 177 runs. Batting first, they piled up an imposing 233 for 6 in 18 overs. Sairaj Desai starred with a fluent 79 off 48 balls, hitting two sixes and 13 boundaries. He was well supported by Player of the Match Sahil Phaldesai, who scored 61 off 41 balls, while Sajal Naik added a quickfire 34 off 14 deliveries.
In reply, Cotigao Yuwa Warriors collapsed for just 56 runs in 12.1 overs. Mayur Naik Gaonkar led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Sahil Phaldesai picked up two. Vishant Gaonkar claimed two wickets for Cotigao.
In the second match, Arya Strikers secured a four-wicket win over Panyafond Mangan Stars. Batting first, Panyafond Mangan Stars managed 106, with Ajit Tari top-scoring with 23 and Naresh Pagi contributing 22.
Arya Strikers chased down the target comfortably, scoring 108 for 6 in 17.3 overs. Kaushal Desai chipped in with a quick 21 off nine balls.
Atharv Devidas was named Player of the Match for his impressive bowling figures of 4 for 14. He was supported by Kaushal Desai (3/16) and Ajink Desai (2/5), who bowled two maiden overs.
