Sanquelim Eagles win Super Series for back-to-back titles

The third edition of the Super Series cricket league concluded after five action-packed months of night matches held across five venues in the UAE.

Organised by Team Super Series—Aslam Shaikh, Javed Shaikh, and Shafan Shaikh—the tournament once again showcased the best of Goan cricketing talent in the region.

The 2024–25 season featured five leading Goa-based teams: Sanquelim Eagles, Petromann, Sanguem Warriors, Jolly Tigers Golden Team, and Karama 32 Warriors. Defending champions Sanquelim Eagles continued their dominant run, securing the title for a second successive year with an impressive 67 points. Petromann followed closely with 60 points, while Sanguem Warriors finished third with 48. Jolly Tigers and Karama 32 rounded out the standings with 44 and 15 points respectively.

Led by captain Yunus Shaikh, the Eagles’ consistent performances were powered by key players such as Mohamed Rafi (Bahu), Farhan Khan, Babul Chamansaab, and Liaqat Bepari.

The awards ceremony was held in Dubai, with Abdul Latif Khan, CEO of Petromann Sports Management, presenting the honours. Owners Yakub Sayed and Asif Aga accepted the championship trophy on behalf of Sanquelim Eagles.
