St Jude’s HS of Betalbatim, Manovikas HS of Margao and Regina Martyrum HS of Assolna registered wins in the Salcete Taluka U-14 inter-school Subroto Mukherjee football tournament played at Dramapur football ground on Friday.
In the first match, St Jude’s HS defeated Mae Dos Pobres HS of Nuvem 4-1. Kuldeep Kullu scored a hat-trick while Mahesh Kuppatagiri netted one. The only goal for Mae Dos Pobres was scored by Wayne Colaco.
In the second match, Manovikas HS thrashed Bloomz HS of Mormugao 6-0. Eric Teles scored a hat-trick while Kirsten Pinheiro, Isaac Pereira and Druv Pai scored a goal each.
In another match, Regina Martyrum HS of Assolna defeated St Rock’s HS of Tollecanto by four goals. Ezeistel Dabugal, Danstan Fernandes, Vollan Coutinho and Zishan Shaikh scored a goal each.
State badminton ranking tournament at Navelim
BPS Sports Club under the aegis of Goa Badminton Association and the Sports Authority of Goa will organize their annual State Badminton Ranking Tournament from July 19 to 22 at Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, Goa (9.30 am onwards).
The categories are U-11, -13, -15, -17, -19, men's, and women's in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Players can register at https://bit.ly/bpsbadminton2023 by July 17 (2 pm). The tournament is one of the selection tournaments for shortlisting probables for West Zone and National events as well as the National Games.
