MARGAO: Hosts USC Seraulim edged past Cuncolim Union 9–8 in a thrilling sudden-death tie-breaker to enter the quarterfinals of the All Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in memory of Late Rev. Fr. Joe Gomes, at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground.
Seraulim took an early lead in the very first minute through a Cuncolim own goal, but Cuncolim fought back in the second half when Frazer Fernandes fired a powerful shot into the far corner to level the score.
The match went to a nail-biting tie-breaker, where Cuncolim found the net through Vijay Sheikh, Asher Gaonkar, Warren Dias, Sachin Velip, Mac Fernandes, Shankar Gaonkar, Vijay Velip, and Tushar Gaonkar. Seraulim held their nerve, with goals from Ashley Fernandes, Floscio Fernandes, Mohd Sahil, Selroy Fernandes, Alden Fernandes, Elroy Fernandes, and Brenson Fernandes to clinch the 9–8 victory.
Hipolito Fernandes of Seraulim presented the Man of the Match award to Frazer Fernandes.
