Praneeth, Parth-Arnav storm into finals

Praneeth booked his place in the Men’s Singles final, while Parth Deorurkhkar and Arnav Bansode progressed to the men’s doubles final at the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026.

In the women’s singles semifinal events, Unnathi fought back after dropping the opening set to defeat Sonicka 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 to set up a summit clash with Nidi S, a first time contestant, who beat defending champion Trisha Vinod in the other semifinal.

In the Men’s Singles semifinals, Praneeth edged past Eshaan in a closely fought three-set contest, prevailing 7-5, 5-7, 11-9 to secure his place in the final. Earlier in the evening, Parth booked his finals spot with a hard-fought win over Ashwin, recovering after dropping the second set to close the match 6-2, 2-6, 10-5.

The men’s doubles semifinals saw Parth and Arnav continue their strong run, overcoming Maaz and Arnav H. 7-6(4), 6-2 to advance to the final. The other men’s doubles semifinal featured Paul and Nilesh against Ashwin and Prathamesh, completing a competitive last-four line-up in the category, with the latter pairing defeating the former 6-3, 7-5.

Finals action in the junior segment saw Gargi produce a dominant display in the Girls Under-12 title clash, defeating Urvi 4-0, 4-0 to clinch the championship. In the Boys Under-12 semifinals, Divyaraj advanced to the final with a straight-sets 4-2, 4-2 victory over Ethan.

The Boys Under-16 category produced multiple decisive results in the semifinals. Kyan booked his place in the final with wins over Shaurya (4-1, 4-2) and Atharva (6-1), while Arav accounted for Fatha 4-1, 4-2 in the other semifinal. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Fatha had progressed past Ethan with a 6-1 victory.

In the Girls Under-16 semifinals, Tvisha advanced after Kimberly was forced to retire due to injury, with Tvisha in control of the contest at the time.

The doubles events continued to produce emphatic scorelines. In the Ladies Doubles semifinals, Sonicka and Nidi defeated Riya and Unnathi 7-6(4), 6-3, while Trisha and Anupama registered a convincing 6-3, 6-0 win over Tvisha and Bhavya to set up a final clash.

Mixed Doubles action moved into the semifinals with contrasting outcomes. Anupama and Eshaan edged past Deeksha and Paul 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, while Trisha and Maaz recorded a comprehensive 6-0, 6-0 win over Riya and Fatha. Earlier in the quarterfinals, Eshaan and Anupama progressed with a one-sided 6-0 victory over Raisa and Neale.

Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has received a record 555 entries across the Masters and Open segments.
