Joshuah Vaz became the first Indian coach to attend the AFC Futsal Coaching Course Level 3, held in Indonesia recently. Following this achievement, he is spearheading the selection process for India’s inaugural Women’s National Futsal Team. Vaz is joined in this effort by coaches Veerababu Sivaneni from Pondicherry and Judon Desouza from Maharashtra.

Sixty-one talented female athletes participated in the trials, which were conducted after over 120 nominations were received from various State associations. The final list of 25 players selected from the trials includes nine players from Gujarat, four each from Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi, two from Arunachal Pradesh, and one each from Telangana and Assam.

Although 11 girls from Goa were nominated, only one attended the trials but unfortunately did not make it to the final roster. The selected players will commence training under the guidance of Joshuah Vaz, Veerababu Sivaneni, and Judon Desouza from November 11.
