Abhijeet Mohite and Sunil Lonkar beat Nilesh Sawant and Vijay Kumar Patki 7-5 to enter the finals while Nilesh Sawant and Vijay Kumar Patki defeated Kevin Rebello and Sachin Dukle 6-4 to enter the 90+ doubles semifinals of the ongoing Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023 tournament. The father-son duo of Amit Tambe and Prashant Tambe trounced Saumil Sheth/ Shyam Dalvi 6-1 to enter the 120+ doubles semifinals of the annual open tennis tournament.
In the veterans 120+ doubles quarterfinal, Bharat/Ansari beat Ram Gupta/Dasappa (6-1) while in the veterans 110+ doubles semis, Ajit Sail/Rumi Printer beat Dinesh Shingte/Ram Jagwani 6-1 to enter the finals.
In a series of other matches spread over various veterans categories in the tournament, Vivek/Jaydeep beat Siddharth Joshi/Ravi Katre (6-2) in the doubles quarterfinals for the veterans 90+ doubles category, while Baba/Anurag beat Kishor/Rajesh (6-1), Sanjeev/Gaurav beat Suraj/Ramchandra (6-0), Siddharth/Katre beat Abhishek/Pankaj (7-5), Sanjeev/Gaurav beat Laxman/Sameer (6-1) and Baba/Anurag beat Langoti/Mohta (6-1) in the same age veterans category.
In the veterans 110+ doubles category, Dinesh/Ram had an easy outing against Patki and Ansari (6-1), while Venkatesh/Bhawarlal beat Manoj/Nikunj (6-0), Ajit/Rumi beat Asopa/Srinivas (6-2) and Dinesh/Ram also defeated Venkatesh/Bhawarlal (6-4).
In the veterans 120+ doubles category, Rumi/Vijay beat Venkatesh/Bhawarlal (6-0) to reach the quarterfinals, so did Rafik and Chandiramani who defeated Paul/Suresh (6-3), while in other matches which were played at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Panjim Gymkhana, Bharat/Ansari beat Krishna/Nimbalkar (6-2), Rafik/Chandiramani beat Srivasan/Anand Rao (6-1), Paul/Suresh beat Yadav/Lonkar (6-0), Venkatesh/Bhawarilal beat David/Sadguru (6-1), Rafik/Chandiramani beat Paul/Suresh (6-3), Rumi/Vijay beat Venkatesh/Bhawarlal (6-0) and Ram G/Dasappa D beat Basavaraj/Denzil (6-3).
Manoj C defeated Paul N (6-2) in the veterans 60+ singles category, even as Mahesh Keshav beat Pramod Umarje (6-1), Srikrishna N K beat Milind G (6-0), Paul beat David (6-3) and Manoj C beat Paul N (6-2). Ashwin Chandok beat Chetan Ganjali (6-4), Hemanshu V beat Sumant Paul (7-5). In the tournament's veterans 55+ category, Ashok K beat Ujjwal S (2-6, 6-4, 10-6) in a long-drawn match.
