A hat-trick by forward Irfan Yadwad helped Panjim Footballers drub St Sebastian Sports Club Marna-Siolim 5-0 to romp into the quarterfinals of the Goa Police Cup football tournament organised by Goa Police Sports Club Sports Cell at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Monday.
Panjim Footballers started brightly and kept knocking on the St Sebastian doors before Chandan Gawas gave them the lead in the 22nd minute. Irfan doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute.
The second half completely belonged to Panjim Footballers as their strikers teased and tormented the rival defence. Irfan struck a second time in the 46th minute while Joyfon Gaunkar also added his name on the scorers’ list in the 81st minute. Irfan completed his hat-trick in the stoppage time. The striker was named as the Player of the match.
