MARGAO: The 44th All India Major Ports Lawn Tennis Tournament, hosted by the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA), commenced on Wednesday at the Tennis Courts of the Sports Authority of Goa, Fatorda. The four-day championship will run from February 25 to February 28.
The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. N. Vinodkumar, IPoS, Chairperson of MPA, as Chief Guest, in the presence of Shri Vinayaka Rao, Deputy Chairperson of MPA, along with other dignitaries and officials.
On the opening day, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority secured a convincing 6–3 win over Chennai Port Authority in one of the featured matches.
The closing ceremony is scheduled for February 28 at 5 pm, with Dr. N. Vinodkumar attending as Chief Guest and Vinayaka Rao as Guest of Honour.
