Bidesh XI SC edged past Vasco SC 7–6 in a thrilling tiebreaker to storm into the semifinals of the 20th Goa Police Cup at Rosary Ground, Navelim.
Both teams started on the front foot, with Michael Silva (Vasco SC) and Longjam Ronald Meitei (Bidesh XI) spearheading early attacks. Bidesh XI drew first blood when Ningthoujam George scored a header in the 55th minute, only for Vasco to hit back through Ngulgoulal Singsit (59’) and Ronaldo Rosebud Pereira (76’). Garrison Fernandes leveled for Bidesh XI in the 80th minute, forcing a tiebreaker.
In the tense shootout, Bidesh XI held their nerve to win 7–6. Fredson Marshall was named Player of the Match and received the award from PI Damodar Naik, in the presence of Melvin D’Costa.
