After the disappointment of the cancellation of the 2020 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in India, Goa's Daisy Crasto is focussing on preparing for the upcoming Under-20 women's national team camp at Jamshedpur from February 5 to March 31.

Daisy was part of the India squad preparing for the marquee FIFA event, which has now been moved to 2022. However, the change in dates means the current set of players won't be eligible to take part in the tournament due to the age criteria.

The young lass from Assolna had represented the India U-15 team at SAFF Championship in Bhutan in 2019, which India won. Anthony Pango, vice-president (South Goa) of Goa Football Association, congratulated the Assolna girl on making it to the camp.

“I’m overwhelmed to hear that Daisy Crasto, the girl from Assolna in South Goa has been called up for the national camp. She has very bright prospects and her determination will bear fruit. I wish her all the best,” Pango said.

Maria Rebello, AFC Match Commissioner cum Assessor and former India captain and FIFA referee was all praise for Daisy. “She has made the State proud by earning a place in the under-20 women's national team camp. I hope she will go on to fulfil her dreams by playing for the country,” Maria said.
