Desserts N More Avengers and Priority Titans recorded impressive victories in the Panaji Gymkhana organised PGML 5.0 Cricket Tournament, with matches played at the Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal, on Saturday.
In a low-scoring contest, Desserts N More Avengers edged past Baale Tigers by three wickets. Put in to bat, Baale Tigers were restricted to 136 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Sandip Dahad top-scored with a solid 48, while Rajaram Kundaikar provided late momentum with a brisk 32 off 20 balls. For the Avengers, Mohan Kolkar emerged as the most successful bowler, returning fine figures of 3 for 15.
In reply, Desserts N More Avengers chased down the target in 19.3 overs, finishing with three wickets in hand. Vikas Shetty led the scoring with 33 off 19 balls, supported well by Ojas (26), Nityay Kunkolienkar (25), and Suraj Hirani, who remained unbeaten on a quick 23 off 11 deliveries.
In the second match of the day, Priority Titans secured a narrow seven-run victory over Sherwin Shaw Falcons. Batting first, Priority Titans posted a challenging 175 for 8 in 20 overs, with Heramb Shankar Parab scoring 38 off 25 balls and Akshay Badami contributing 35.
While chasing, Sherwin Shaw Falcons were well placed at 130 for 4, thanks to fighting knocks from Saif Ali Karajgi (38), Rounak Pednekar (38) and Gourav Desai (30). However, a dramatic collapse saw them slide to 149 for 9, falling short of the target. Atharva starred with the ball for Priority Titans, claiming three wickets to seal a tense finish.
