The Goa Football Association (GFA), under the aegis of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), successfully conducted the AIFF 'C' Licence Coaching Course at the GFA Duler Stadium in Mapusa from June 12 to June 23.

The course saw the participation of 24 aspiring football coaches, including 14 from Goa and 10 from other states. Notable participants included Indian Super League (ISL) player Lenny Rodrigues and I-League club player Mohammed Ali.

The program, which focused on both theoretical and practical aspects of football coaching, was conducted by AIFF coach educator and AFC 'A' Licence holder Mariano Dias.

Organized annually by the GFA, the initiative aims to equip grassroots coaches with essential skills and knowledge to enhance the standard of football in the region. “This course is designed to provide coaches with foundational qualifications so they can eventually explore opportunities on national and international platforms,” said a GFA representative.

Coach educator Mariano Dias praised the GFA for its continued support. “This training marks the beginning of a long coaching journey for many. I am hopeful that these coaches will pursue further education, refine their skills, and contribute meaningfully to Indian football,” he stated. Dias also commended the participants for their commitment and active involvement throughout the course.

Trainee coaches expressed their appreciation to the GFA for organizing the course. “We feel privileged to have learned the fundamentals of the game through this certification. It’s a valuable opportunity for all of us,” said one of the participants.

The valedictory function was graced by GFA Executive Members Uday Lingudker, John Pereira, and Babli Mandrekar, along with the support staff. Anthony Lobo served as the Course Program Coordinator.
