MARGAO
The Goa Masters Women Volleyball Association, in collaboration with St. Barbara’s Sports Club, will organize the Goa Women’s Volleyball Revival Day 2026 on Saturday, May 23, at the St. Barbara Sports Club Ground, Santa Cruz.
The unique initiative aims to revive and celebrate women’s volleyball in Goa by bringing together multiple generations of players on a common platform under the inspiring theme, “From Legends to Future Stars.”
The event seeks to reconnect former players with the sport while inspiring young girls to take up volleyball with passion and confidence. Participants will include school and college players, working women, senior players who represented Goa at State, University and National levels, as well as recreational players returning to the game after many years.
Unlike conventional tournaments focused purely on competition, the revival event will emphasize participation, fellowship, fitness, memories, mentorship and sporting spirit. Around four balanced teams will compete in a round-robin league format featuring short matches to ensure every participant gets an opportunity to play through unlimited substitutions and mandatory rotation.
In keeping with the spirit of inclusion and celebration, there will be no winner or runner-up trophies. Instead, special recognitions will be presented in categories such as Volleyball Legacy Award, Inspirational Return Award, Young Emerging Player Award, Mother-Daughter Participation Award and Comeback Player Award.
Former and current women volleyball players from across Goa have been invited to participate in the celebration by contacting Milagrine (South Goa) – 77988 08072, Betty (Ponda) – 9226313572, Melinda (Central Goa) – 99216 14113, or Samiksha (North Goa) – 98238 96306.
