Tino Brother Cuncolim defeated Ignite XYZ Boys Davorlim 1-0 in the final to clinch the U-19 8-a-side Rosary Trophy organized by Rosary Boys Junior at the Layamati Football Ground on Sunday.
Both teams played attacking football and kept the spectators engaged throughout the match. However, neither side could break the deadlock in the first half as the teams went into the breather locked 0-0.
The decisive moment came in the 40th minute of the second half when Warren of Tino Brother Cuncolim found the back of the net with the all-important goal, which eventually turned out to be the winner.
Sidhesh Baghat was the chief guest for the final and presented the prizes in the presence of Danny Fernandes, Goriti Gomes, Valentine Dias and other dignitaries and club officials.
Individual prizes were also awarded. Warren of Tino Brother Cuncolim was named Man of the Final, while teammate Asher won the Best Goalkeeper award. Cidroy of Ignite XYZ Boys Davorlim was adjudged Best Forward of the final.
