MARGAO: Harshad Shivaji Sawant clinched a gold medal in the 50m freestyle and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle swimming events at the 1st Asia Pacific Down Syndrome Federation (APDSF) Games 2026, held in association with Special Olympics Bharat at the Nehru Stadium, Chennai, on January 29 and 30.
Harshad, who hails from Fatorda, Margao, is a student of New Dawn Ashadeep Special School, Sada, Vasco. He is trained by RCC Fatorda Margao coach Inacio “Netty” Raposo.
