MARGAO: Sports and Welfare Club Zaino registered an emphatic 40-run victory over Shivtej in a D.S. 37 Trophy encounter organised by Cuncolim Super Kings at Luzano on January 27. Batting first, Zaino piled up a competitive 204 for 6 in their 20 overs, thanks to a superb knock of 71 by Pranav Naik.
In reply, Shivtej were bowled out for 164 in 20 overs, despite a valiant effort from Sanket Mandrekar. Pranav Naik was adjudged Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
In another match of the tournament, Margao’s Team Swarajya clinched a thrilling 16-run win over SSRC. Batting first, Team Swarajya posted 151 for 8 in 18 overs, with Avik Fal Dessai top-scoring with a fine 58. He was later named Man of the Match.
Chasing the target, S.S.R.C. were restricted to 135 all out in 18 overs, despite fighting knocks of 29 by Rushab Naik and 28 by Pranay Ramthi. Team Swarajya’s disciplined bowling effort ensured a well-deserved victory.
