MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 31st Mandopa Cup 2026 after edging past hosts Mandopa Sporting Club 5–4 via a penalty shootout at the Mandopa ground on Tuesday.
Both teams played attacking end-to-end football and created several chances, but neither side could break the deadlock, with the match remaining goalless at the final whistle.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Lenon Colaco, Shenoy Colaco, Frazer Miranda, Royston Mascarenhas and Joywin Costa converted their penalties for Nuvem, while Salu Costa, Ronaldo Pereira, Aden Pereira and Sandroy Costa scored for Mandopa.
Salu Costa of Mandopa Sporting Club was awarded the Man of the Match by Claudia Dias, former General Secretary of the club.
