Goa’s medal-winning beach volleyball, beach soccer and sepaktakraw teams were felicitated on Wednesday at the Goa Legislative Assembly, marking official recognition of their performances at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026.
The ceremony was led by Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, in the presence of Dhaku Madkaikar, Vice Chairman of GFDC, Dr Ajay Gaude, Director of Sports, Sumith MR, High Performance Director, Khelo India, Goa, and other officials of the Sports Authority of Goa.
The honours followed Goa’s podium finishes at the national event, where the men’s beach volleyball team won gold, the men’s beach soccer team secured silver, and the women’s sepaktakraw trio team claimed bronze. Goa also won an individual bronze in pencak silat.
The state’s standout result came in men’s team beach volleyball, where Prabal Vishwas Sawant and Tejas Pandurang Gauns combined to clinch the gold medal.
The silver medal was secured by the men’s beach soccer team, comprising Samson Gomes, Nehal Parab, Terence Fernandes, Abel Gurjao, Vicky Rathod, Satish Naik, Pawan Naik, Suresh Subhash Lamani, Pedro Gonsalves, Latish Kunkolkar, Pratik Kankonkar and Pradeep Bind. Goa won a sepaktakraw bronze in women’s trio team, which comprised of Karuna Khadka, Sachi Bhandari, Ragini Tejbali Bhartiya, Reshma Kerkatta and Lehala Gomes. Parmesh Chauhan won the other bronze in pencak silat (women’s tanding 55 kg).
