MIBK HS and AJDE Almeida HS registered emphatic victories in their respective matches of the Late Shri Dilip Sardesai Trophy (U-16 boys) played at Madkai ground on Tuesday.
In the first match, Saraswati HS, after opting to bat, were bowled out for 86 in 16.3 overs. Lakhan Patil top-scored with 22, while Samir Naik chipped in with 16. The MIBK bowling attack was led by Vedang Gawade, who claimed 4 for 7, while Shourya Datkar and Ayan Nadha picked up three wickets each.
In reply, MIBK HS chased down the target comfortably, scoring 89 for 1 in just 8.4 overs. Ayan Nadha anchored the innings with a brisk 41 off 20 balls, supported by Tanay Parab’s 24. MIBK HS won the match by nine wickets.
In another encounter, GVMRPRS struggled with the bat after choosing to bat first, managing only 55 for 10 in 16 overs. Anish Naik and Shreyang Satarkar were the main contributors with eight and four runs respectively. AJDE Almeida’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Hanzala Anwar returning impressive figures of 4 for 5, while Ayan Badgi took 2 for 3.
AJDE Almeida HS made light work of the modest target, reaching 58 without loss in 5.3 overs. Ayman Mulla scored a fluent 29, while Nagesh Tilve remained unbeaten on 17. AJDE Almeida HS sealed the match by 10 wickets.
