Opening day 45+ Masters singles action at Gadre Gaspar Dias Open.

Action in the 11th edition of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open began on Thursday at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias premises in Miramar and at the Panjim Gymkhana, with first-round matches played in the Masters category.
In the Masters men’s singles 45+ category, Arun NS defeated Karl R 6-0, while Prashant beat Vivek 6-1. Amit registered a 6-0 win over Saifraj, and D Arumugam overcame R Kapse 6-1. Atul J defeated Arun 6-0, R Gandhi beat Prashant 6-1, and Arumugam M accounted for Subodh S 6-2. Pavan Mokashi won 6-1 against L Autade, while Sagar Pattekari edged Anup Sardesai 6-4. V Mangaonkar defeated S Signapurkar 7-5, Saumil Sheth beat Nilesh Daine 6-1, and Marcus D later defeated Ashok RG 6-1.
In the Masters 90+ men’s doubles category, Ashok and D Arumugam recorded a 6-0 win over Elvis and Marcus.
The tournament is organised jointly by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA). Masters category matches will continue until January 25, while the Open category is scheduled to begin from January 26.
