Shree Bodgeshwar win Daivadnya Cricket Cup

Shree Bodgeshwar beat Vernekar Warriors in the men’s final.

The 8th edition of the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association’s (AGDBYA) Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2026 concluded at the SAG ground, Fatorda, with Shree Bodgeshwar emerging champions in the men’s category and Super Strikers clinching the women’s title.
Held on January 17 and 18, the two-day tournament saw the participation of 17 teams from across Goa, including two women’s teams and two kids’ teams. In the men’s final, Shree Bodgeshwar defeated Vernekar Warriors.
Amrut Verlekar was the standout performer of the tournament, winning both the Man of the Series and Best Batsman awards, besides also taking the prize for maximum sixes. Siddhesh Vernekar was adjudged the Best Bowler, while Atharv Verlekar was named Man of the Match in the final. Other individual awards went to Mahendra Karekar for Best Catch and Sahil Verlekar as the Emerging Player.
In the women’s category, Super Strikers lifted the trophy after getting past Dakshin Warriors. Nishita Pednekar was named Player of the Match in the women’s final. In the kids’ category, Royal 11 were crowned the winners.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Dr Geeta Nagvenkar, Member Secretary, Goa State Pollution Control Board, as the chief guest, and Dr Chitra D Lotlikar, a general medicine practitioner, as the guest of honour. National weightlifting champion Sakshi Haldankar was felicitated with the Daivadnya Sports Achiever Award.
