Clube de Salgaocar and Geno FC recorded victories in their respective Goa Professional League matches played on Thursday.
At the Vasco Sports Club ground, Clube de Salgaocar produced a dominant performance to thrash Vasco SC 5-1, with Isac Zomuanpuia scoring four goals.
Salgaocar took control of the match early and opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Isac broke free inside the box and finished calmly. The visitors doubled their lead soon after through Royson Colaco, who struck from close range to make it 2-0 at the interval.
Salgaocar tightened their grip on the contest after the restart. Isac added his second goal by dribbling past defenders and the goalkeeper before finishing, and completed his hat-trick a minute later with a powerful effort from outside the area. In the 62nd minute, he latched onto a pass from Tohid Yattanl and slotted home his fourth goal.
Vasco managed a consolation goal from a free kick through Ronaldo Rosebud Pereira after the Salgaocar goalkeeper failed to hold his effort, but Salgaocar comfortably saw out the match to seal a 5-1 win.
In the other match at the Duler Stadium, Geno FC edged past Pax of Nagoa SC 1-0 in a closely fought encounter.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams well organised defensively and few clear chances created. The decisive moment came in the 73rd minute when Deeshank Kunkalikar’s shot was saved by Pax goalkeeper Vishal Sunar, but Sankalp Kankonkar reacted quickest to score from the rebound.
Pax pushed forward in search of an equaliser in the closing stages, but Geno’s defence held firm. Geno FC managed the remainder of the game with discipline to secure all three points.
