A contract worker from Jharkhand was found dead after allegedly ending his life inside a room at Pissurlem Industrial Estate on October 20.
The deceased, Suresh Manjhi (28), had been working for a year under a contractor engaged in brick manufacturing work and was staying in a room near the company along with several other workers.
According to his co-workers, he had taken a day off and stayed in the room on the day of the incident. When the workers returned to their accommodation after completing their duties, they discovered that Manjhi had allegedly ended his life inside the room. The contractor subsequently informed the Valpoi Police about the incident.
A police team conducted an inquest at the scene and later sent the body to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for a post-mortem examination. Valpoi Police are investigating the case.
