The Sunshine School Ground, Old Goa, is set to transform into a vibrant football festival as Kick Off Football Schools (KOFS) hosts KOFS Cup 2.0, a two-day grassroots football celebration, on December 27 and 28.
More than 400 young footballers will be in action across the U8, U10, U12 and U15 categories, making the tournament one of the biggest grassroots football events in the region. Teams from across Goa, including KOFS, Valpoi GFDC , The Sports hustle Goa, United GFDC, St Britto’s, FC Goa Football Schools, Tiny Goals Academy, JPG Football Stars, Super 30, ACE and Siddeshwar SCC, will be part of the football festival.
The finals and prize distribution ceremony will be graced by Shri Rajesh Faldessai, MLA of Cumbarjua Constituency. Adding star value to the football festival, India international footballer Kattimani Laxmikant will attend the event as the Guest of Honour, interacting with young players and encouraging grassroots talent.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Andrea Fernandes, Founder of Kick Off Football Schools, said, “KOFS Cup 2.0 is about giving children a platform to play, learn and enjoy the game. We wish all the participating teams the very best and hope this tournament becomes a memorable experience for every young footballer.”
Head Coach Jonas Fernandes said, “At the grassroots level, development comes first, but results are part of the learning process. Players need time, patience and consistency to improve. KOFS Cup 2.0 gives young footballers the chance to compete, learn and grow—because strong development ultimately leads to better players and better results.”
Winners and runners-up in each category will receive cash prizes, trophies, medals and certificates, along with special awards for Best Player and Best Goalkeeper, while all participants will be awarded participation certificates.
Through KOFS Cup 2.0, Kick Off Football Schools continues its mission of promoting football as a celebration of passion, learning and teamwork, while strengthening the grassroots football ecosystem in Goa.
