The Adarsh Sports Club successfully conducted its Annual Cricket Tournament in Mormugao, marking the seventh consecutive year of the sporting event that has become a regular fixture in the local cricket calendar.
The tournament featured three teams — Adarsh Sports, Delta Ports and Sambhaji Warriors (2026) — and witnessed enthusiastic participation from players and supporters alike. Over the years, the event has provided a competitive platform for budding cricketers in the Mormugao region and fostered a spirit of sportsmanship within the community.
The tournament was graced by chief guests PI Damodar Naik, Gajanan Naik, Tulashidas Narvekar, Sanjay Naik and Sanjay Manjrekar, whose presence added significance to the occasion and motivated the participants.
A special felicitation ceremony was also held to honour promising women cricketers from Mormugao representing the U-19 Goa Girls and U-23 Senior categories. Pooja Ajay Singh Yadav, Harshada Kadam and Aradhana Saroj were felicitated for their achievements and contribution to the sport.
In the final match, Delta Ports scored 56 runs for the loss of eight wickets in eight overs. Sambhaji Warriors (2026) chased down the target in 6.2 overs with a dominant display to clinch the championship title.
Sangu was declared Man of the Match, Sachin Mesta received the Best Bowler award, Kishan was named Best Batsman, while Sameer Dhuri was adjudged Player of the Tournament.
