MARGAO: Sao Jose de Areal defeated Ambelim Sports Club 2–1 to progress to the next round of the 2nd Late Fernando Abranches Memorial Trophy 2026, organised by the United Club of Verna and played at the Verna Village Panchayat Ground on Wednesday.
David Colaco starred for Sao Jose de Areal, scoring both goals to secure the win. Nash Pinto scored the lone goal for Ambelim Sports Club.
Former MPT player Isdorio Rodrigues presented the Man of the Match award to Bersal Vieges of Sao Jose de Areal.
