Goa suffered a heavy 137-run defeat against Vidarbha in the Women’s Under-15 One-Day Trophy (Elite) match at the Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram on Thursday.
Batting first, Vidarbha posted a commanding 267 for 4 in their allotted 35 overs, built around a century by Arya Pongde (117) and a solid 77 from Maahum Talib.
In reply, Goa could manage only 130 for 4 in 35 overs. Joya Meer was the standout performer for Goa, scoring 68 off 82 balls with 12 fours to register a half-century. Arya Parab chipped in with 21, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build partnerships against a disciplined Vidarbha bowling attack.
The loss was Goa’s fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament. They remain placed at the bottom of Group B and will play their final league match against Punjab on January 10.
