Tyson Brothers Cuncolim emerged champions of the Late Joaquina Palmiera Memorial Cup after triumphing over Chota Nagpur Youth Club SVD Raia with a 2-1 victory in a thrilling final. The 2-a-side tie-breaker tournament, organised by Double 11 Raia, concluded on Sunday at the SVD ground in Damon Raia.

In the hotly contested final match, Wilson and Praveen found the net for Tyson Brothers Cuncolim, securing their team's hard-fought win. Chota Nagpur (SVD Raia)'s sole goal was scored by Prakash Gop.

Tyson Brothers Cuncolim were presented with the coveted winner's trophy, while Chota Nagpur Youth Club SVD Raia earned the runners-up title.

Individual honours were also distributed for outstanding performances throughout the tournament. The Best Goalkeeper award was bestowed upon Wilson of Tyson Brothers Cuncolim for his exceptional saves. Prakash Gop from Chota Nagpur (SVD Raia) was recognized as the Best Shooter for his prolific scoring. The Chota Nagpur team notably included players Prakash Gop and Patras Kandola.

The tournament saw a robust participation of 88 teams, with all semi-finalists receiving a prize of ₹2,000 each.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Peter Quadros, the former sarpanch and current panch member of VP Raia, who was as the chief guest. He was joined by guest of honour Nicky Cardozo, a renowned tiatr director and former footballer, and Francisco Karachol Cardozo, recognized as a former best midfielder of Raia Sporting Club.

In a special felicitation segment, Nicky Cardozo, Francisco Karachol Cardozo, and Leroy Cardozo were honoured for their contributions. Leroy Cardozo was celebrated as Raia's Strongest Man 2020 and a silver medalist in powerlifting at the national level.

The triumphant Tyson Brothers team received their winner's trophy from Nicky Cardozo and the dedicated organizing committee.
