Hosts UC Utorda stormed into the quarterfinals of the 32nd All-Goa Inter-Village Football Tournament after edging past Cortalim Gymkhana 7-6 via sudden death in a thrilling encounter at the Utorda ground.
Organised by United Club of Utorda in association with the Sports Authority of Goa, the match saw both teams display quality football and strong defensive discipline, resulting in a tightly fought contest.
With the scores level at the end of regulation time, the match was decided through a tense tiebreaker. UC Utorda proved to be the better shooters, eventually clinching victory in sudden death to book their place in the last eight.
Played as part of the Lourdes Festival Soccer, the Man of the Match award was presented to Sevon Costa of Cortalim Gymkhana by chief guest Marcus Vaz, a well-known tiatrist.
