United Boys Ambaulim lifted the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 by defeating Parish Youth Nuvem 4-2 in a thrilling final at St Alex Church ground on Sunday.
Ambaulim raced to a 3-0 lead in the first half with goals from Alex Fernandes (6’), Alfiano Fernandes (17’) and Sowell Fernandes (29’). PY Nuvem fought back in the second half with strikes from Leroy Colaco (53’) and Shenoy Colaco (60’), but Joel Barreto’s 62nd-minute goal sealed a 4-2 victory for Ambaulim.
Individual honours went to Alex Fernandes (First Scorer, Highest Scorer), Alfiano Fernandes (Man of the Match), Sowell Fernandes (Best Striker), Melrico Andrade (Best Goalkeeper, PY Nuvem), Leroy Colaco (Best Defender, PY Nuvem), and Savlon Fernandes (Best Midfielder). James Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana was named Best Player of the Tournament, while Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda won Best Disciplined Team.
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was felicitated by Curtorim Gymkhana, and Dronacharya Awardee Armando Colaco received Rs 5 lakh under the Reginaldo Trust. Players Myrick Hilario and Mevan Dias were also honoured for featuring at the 38th National Games.
