Vasco Sports Club secured a narrow 1-0 win over Chapora Yuvak Sangh in the Goa Professional League 2025 at Duler Stadium on Sunday, thanks to an early second-half strike from Ngulgoulal Singsit.
The first half saw both sides create chances but fail to convert. Vasco’s Ngulgoulal tested Chapora goalkeeper Tanesh Kakonkar in the 14th minute, while Chaitan Dhabolkar’s long-range effort in the 37th minute kept Vasco alert. The half ended goalless after a closely contested battle.
The deadlock was broken in the 51st minute when Velington Almeida delivered a precise cross for Ngulgoulal, who calmly slotted past the goalkeeper to give Vasco the lead. Chapora pushed for an equaliser, but clear chances went begging as Sachidanand Satelkar and Rio Fernandes missed opportunities in the 61st and 85th minutes, respectively.
Vasco’s defence, marshalled by Ronaldo Pereira and goalkeeper Roni Das, held firm under late pressure. Chapora’s Krishna was shown a yellow card deep into stoppage time for a foul on Velington, as Vasco held on for all three points.
