MARGAO: USC Seraulim secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 46th St Joseph’s Festival Football Tournament with a gritty 1-0 win over Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda at the Dramapur Ground on Thursday.
In front of a crowd of over a thousand fans, both teams showcased quality football, but it was Selroy Fernandes who made the difference, scoring the decisive goal in the 40th minute. Don Bosco nearly responded immediately, but Mario Noronha missed a golden chance to level the score just two minutes later.
Young talent Shakam Sanke stood out for Seraulim with his lively performance and creative attacking play, though Don Bosco’s defense held strong to prevent further goals.
