PANAJI: The Football Association of Velim Villagers (FAVV) is all set to host the 2nd Edition of the AVCC Open Invitational 9-A-Side Football Tournament at the St. Xavier’s Church Ground, Velim, promising an exciting fortnight of grassroots football action.
The tournament, which kicks off on April 19, will feature eight competitive teams divided into Pool A and Pool B, battling for top honours in a knockout format culminating in the grand final on May 1, at 4:30 PM.
In Pool A, teams such as GTS Tollecantto, T Boys Velim, AVCC XI, St Cruz Cumbiabhat, 63 Baradi, OLF SC Baida, and Harisson XI are set to clash in the opening rounds.
Meanwhile, Pool B will see strong contenders including Shantadurga Boys Panzorconi, Upcoming Boys, Pocliviol Sporting Club, Ambelim Sports Club, Young Boys of Goemchebhat, Patxalla Boys Zaino, and Cross Boys Velim competing for a place in the knockout stages.
