Most people spend most of their quality time either at home or in the office. If the office is designed as per the principles of Vastu shastra, then the benefits will be enormous. The importance of the location of the owner’s cabin, staff sitting area, canteen and other various departments needs to be considered for the success in business.
The five elements of nature -- Water, Fire, Earth, Air and Space -- deserve a mention while setting up an office. If the five elements are properly balanced, then the positivity will increase.
North-East is the location of the Water element as well as where only light material and open space must be maintained. Entrance, reception area, waiting lobby, a place for prayer and drinking water provision can be made in the office in this direction.
Lord Kuber, the God of wealth reigns supreme in the North direction. So, this part of the office should be assigned to finance, accounts and billing transactions. East is the direction of the rising sun. If the administrative department is located in this direction then there always will be positive results.
In South-East, the area of the Fire element there should be all material related to the electricity and electrical goods, canteen and pantry area. The purchase, research and development department here is considered very auspicious.
North-West is the area of Air element which promotes new ideas and helps in better communication and increases team spirit. There can be sales, marketing and dispatch department in this area of the office. Conference room, toilets, waiting lobby as well as parking is considered auspicious.
The South-West direction is the location of the Earth element that helps in bringing stability to the owner or the head of the company. The owner’s cabin must be here and while sitting, he/she should face North-East, East or North. The second rank person in the office should occupy the South direction cabin and the third the West direction cabin.
The centre area of the office or the Brahmasthan should be open or with light items kept there.
There should not be heavy furniture immediately in front of the entrance door of the office as it blocks the positive energies. Arrangement of light storage in the North to East and heavy storage in the South to West direction should be made.
All important documents should be kept in the South-West direction. There should be proper light and ventilation in the office. Office staff should be made to sit facing East or North direction so that they remain positive, energetic and motivated all the time.
Healthy work ethics should be maintained always.
