Sardinha’s call: Restart mining in the State

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha on Wednesday demanded that resumption of mining in the. He also called for early resumption of sand extraction.

Addressing the media, Sardinha said the government should keep interests of Goa and Goans in mind while resuming mining activities.

The MP further said that the government should immediately stop the track doubling project.

 “If they have laid the double track at any stretch, let it be put to use. But, the railways and the government should not go ahead with land acquisition along the Majorda-Vasco route and scrap the project”, he demanded.

The MP demanded that the Goa government take into account the non-payment of arrears of 6th and 7th pay commissions to the retired teachers of aided schools, demanding early release of the arrears.
