‘Art Ads’ completes 40 years

PANAJI: One of the oldest advertising agencies in Goa, ‘Art Ads’ achieved an important milestone having completed 40 years of its existence on March 1 and to celebrate this occasion an event was hosted to honour Maendra Alvares who pioneered the idea of an advertising agency in Margao way back in 1983 and his past and present staff.  

“For me this is a proud moment,” said Maendra who hosted the event at the ‘Bigfoot Sanskriti Kendra’ Loutolim which is an associate venue of the Bigfoot. Various print media, press establishments and personalities were felicitated on the occasion. For being the sole representatives of the various areas of the agency like the screen-printing, outdoor media and advertising units Deepak Gaad, Bharti Nadkarni, Pushpa Naik, Shibu Raghunath, Suraj Nadkarni, Peter Gomes and other past staff were honoured. Among the present staff Maria Andrade, Geeta Naik and Muskaan Muzawar were honoured for their contributions in the general, digital and social media areas.  

Eminent writer and coloumnist, Pachu Menon was also honoured for his continued alliance with ‘art ads’. Mario Alvares the older sibling of Maendra Alvares received a special citation. Plaques and lamps were conferred upon the awardees along with a shawl made form a ‘Kunbi Kapodd’ (local tribal wear).
